2/4 Marches: 16 measures (or 8 measures repeated)
3/4 Marches: 16 measures (or 8 measures repeated)
4/4 Marches: 8 measures (not repeated)
6/8 Marches: 16 measures (or 8 measures repeated)
9/8 Marches: 16 measures (or 8 measures repeated)
12/8 Marches: 8 measures (not repeated)
Strathspeys (Common time signature): 8 measures (or 4 measures repeated)
Reels (Cut-Common time signature): 8 measures (or 4 measures repeated)
Hornpipes (2/4 time signature): 16 measures (or 8 measures repeated)
6/8 Jigs: 16 measures (or 8 measures repeated)
9/8 Jigs: 8 measures (or 4 measures repeated)
12/8 Jigs: 8 measures (or 4 measures repeated)
For competition categories that require a number of parts for each tune-type, and more than one tune-type in the set:
The number of parts of each tune-type can exceed what is required in the competition category
Tunes published with more parts than required can be played. These need to be played as published, from the start of the tune, consecutively up to completing the number of parts required in the tune-type
Tunes published with less parts than required cannot be played.
