Associated Membership & Alliances

SPBASA's Executive Committee approved a strategic change to our Constitution, opening doors to a new type of membership. Since SPBASA's inception in 2003, pipe bands that meet minimum numbers and other requirements are eligible to become members as such. The Associated Members clause builds a similar structure for upcoming pipe bands and related groups in South America. The intent is to establish closer connections, and to promote participation in SPBASA's activities throughout a much larger pool of groups interested in our lore. SPBASA also approved a framework for formalizing alliances with comparable organizations. Though each agreement would have it's nuances, this framework will help promote mutual cooperation across multiple organizations. SPBASA already has an agreement of mutual cooperation with the Alliance of North American Pipe Band Associations, and is looking forward to expand its network to more organizations across the World.
